Hardcover,. 8vo, xxvi478pp, all plates are present as called for: engraved portrait, engraved contemporary hand coloured title page plus 13 additional plates (of which 2 are hand coloured and one plate is folding; all except folding plate have tissue guards, some are frayed and age darkened on edges with minor marginal tears; the folding plate has been repaired); mid 20th century beige half morocco with textured cloth on the boards, raised bands, title gilt on contrasting label, binding very sound, new end papers and blank prelims, the original decorated spine strip has been preserved and is loosely inserted; ownership inscription on front free endpaper and another on first page of preface, some foxing to text but overall text pages are clean and presentable, a scarce item. A hand written receipt for bookbinding, dates May 1963 is loosely inserted.
