Tremendous account of the great cathedrals of Britain; describing their history, architecture and relics. All 27 Cathedrals extant in 1814 are featured, each with numerous finely engraved plates and plans. In total there are 229 plates (including frontispieces) and 27 plans as called for, most with tissue guards. Two plates have been skillfully hand-coloured. 8vo. (230x150mm). Rebound in cloth with gilt titling. Top edge gilt. Some occasional mild foxing, mainly to edges of plates. Otherwise contents clean and prim. Binding fresh and tight. Very good.
