About This Item

James Carpenter, Old Bond Street; Jospeh Booker, New Bond Street; And John Deck, Bury St Edmunds, 1822. Hardback, original half calf and marbled paper covered boards. 31 x 24cm. viii, 263pp. 30 plates and tables as called for. Nice armorial bookplate from Henry Mussenden Leathes (who fought at the Battle of Waterloo) on the front pastedown. Less pleasing modern bookplate of a later owner on the free front end-paper. Text and plates complete but pages 217-224 bound out of place. Foxing to some plates and off-setting to facing leaves. Just a touch of mustiness. Firmly bound. A pleasing original copy. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Good.
