New York: Hudson Hills Press, (1982). First US edition. Large quarto. 122 pp., including 62 color portraits of Native Americans by Grandmaison. Publisher's brown cloth with gilt spine lettering, photographic endpapers, dust jacket. Top and bottom edges of dust jacket professionally strengthened with very thin strips of like-colored vinyl tape to prevent tears. A very attractive copy.Grandmaison was born in Czarist Russia to a noble French family. He later emigrated to London and finally settled in Banff, Alberta where he spent the remainder of his life painting.
