From a note at the beginning: "At the semi-annual meeting of the Presbytery, held at the Harrison Church, October 8, 1903, E. V. Campbell, D.D., pastor of the church at St. Cloud, was requested to undertake the work of collecting and arranging such materials of information as could be secured, relating to the organization and early life of each church within our bounds." The result, a few years later, was this book, which includes the history of dozens of the churches with photos for many of them..
