This Two Volume Set is beautiful for its age - a true piece of history.
Illustrated with maps, diagrams, and engravings.

Both volumes: Hardcover. No DJ. Maroon leather boards with stamped design on both front and back. Both spines are faded, but gold gilt lettering is still good. Both volumes have marbled end papers & page edges. There are lots of engravings - most with intact tissue guards; however the tissue guards are tanned and have age spots as do many of the engravings.

Vol. 1 Condition - Fair. Front cover has separated from the binding with the endpapers and 3 more pages attached to it. Spine cover has separated from the bound pages, and is barely hanging on by the back hinge. There is wear on the covers, edges, and corners, and chipping especially on the top and bottom of the spine. The text is clean, i.e. no underlining, highlights, or notes. Back end paper and last blank page are partially stuck together. 507 pages including Index.
