London: John Tallis and Company [circa 1850s]. (4to) Very good. Pebble grained cloth over 3 / 4 brown leather with ribbed spines. Marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, 43 steel engravings, double page map with outlines in color. The top corner of the back cover of Vol.1 has been damp and is a bit distorted, the spines are lightly faded, and some of the plates have spotting and dampstains. A tight, solid set which presents well on the shelf. Engravings by H. Warren. (Sets, History--Ireland, Sets).
