About This Item
Octavos, three volumes. No damage, no marks of any kind, not an ex-library copy, no bookplates, etc.. The only deviation from new condition is a few very small spots on page tops (see photograph).
Colonel Charles Edward Banks was an American medical doctor with the U.S. Marine Hospital Service, Assistant Surgeon General of the United States Public Health Service and a noted historian and genealogist of colonial New England.
His thoroughly researched, elegantly written and surprisingly readable history and genealogy of Martha's Vineyard (and the Town of Gosnold, comprising the other Elizabeth Islands) is considered a significant work of New England, American and British colonial history.
