Even though 'The History of the Navy' was highly criticized, Cooper is one of the foremost authoritative authors on the U.S. Navy.
This fine, American edition describes all the wars, battles, and sea engagements of American warships from the Revolutionary War and late 18th-century through 1856 – the year this edition was published – covering the Battle at Tripoli and important battles in the War of 1812.
