Two smart volumes that detail the local history of Newcastle and Gateshead from the 14th to the 16th Century. Two first editions volumes of the History of Newcastle and Gateshead, complete in three volumes. Volumes one and two are present. The first volume outlines the history of Newcastle and Gateshead in the 14th and 15th Centuries and the second volume describes the history of Newcastle and Gateshead in the 16th Century. The volumes form a diary of the political, municipal, ecclesiastical, commercial and social life of Newcastle and Gateshead. Volume one has a frontispiece and the volumes are illustrated throughout the text. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light bumping to the head and tail of the spines. A mark to the spine of volume one. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good Indeed
