London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, Brown, and Green, 1825. Sir Henry Parnell [First Baron Congleton, 1812-1841] was a Whig politician and the grand-uncle of the Irish leader Charles Stewart. First published in 1808; a "New Edition" appeared in 1822. This is a Very Good (Plus) to Near Fine copy of the Fourth Edition [stated]. Original ribbed black cloth binding with a decorative stamping; titling in gilt on the spine. Clean text; v, 173 pages, with a one-page advert for Parnell's speeches. Embossed chop of a previous owner can be discerned on the Title Page.This is an ex-libris copy, but the treatments are not onerous: stamp from a Convent on the Title Page and a number on the lower spine. Really a sound and very attractive copy. Fourth Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
