A history of 16th century Scotland and the rise of Presbyterianism. all volumes have a small bookplate on the front pastedowns, various size brown marks at the edges of the pastedowns which migrate into adjacent pages, areas of very light browning/foxing on some pages, moderate browning to the edges of the text blocks, some wear and minor bumping to the corners of the boards, some minor flaking to the leather on the spines.; volume I has a 2" split at the top of the front hinge and a soft crease at the top corner of approx. pages 140 to 220; volume II has pencil notation on most of the front free endpaper, 1/2" split at the top of the front hinge, a tiny dent in the margin of approx. pages 10 to 50; volume III has a small hole in the front free endpaper..
