About This Item
London: David Nutt, 1897. Hardcover. Very good. Two volumes. The first, printed in 1894, is the supposed suppressed edition, bout in publisher's navy blue cloth, gilt titles on spine and upper board. Edges lightly worn else this is a very good copy. The second, printed in 1897, is the entirely new translation by Ellis, bound in cream colored buckram, gilt titles on spine and upper board. There is some offset to the free endpapers, possibly from some clippings, the buckram is age toned else this is also a very good copy.
Both copies are illustrated throughout by Walter Crane.
