Glasgow: Thomas Murray and Son, 1861 blind embossed and decorated cloth with gilt to spine, rubbed at spine ends and corners, frayed spine ends, binding loose on cords, front hinge split and opened between half title and frontis ( ie not attached to text block), inscription to fep dated Glasgow 1919, early inscription to blank recto of frontis, has engraved frontis and title as well as printed text title, 2 leaves (half title and frontis) + xvi, 294 +4pp adverts, rear fep removed, first three signatures detached, a tidy copy but needs to be resewn and recased into the original boards, includes a folding genealogical chart, includes information on the Sinclairs of Roslin (Rosslyn) . First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6? - 7? tall.

London: Mark Baskett and the Assigns of Robert Baskett, 1764. Fine. [2],403-407,[1] p.; 33 cm. (folio). Three stab-holes, but no other evidence that this was ever bound. Edges are untrimmed. Title page reads "Anno Regni Georgii III. . . . At the Parliament begun and holden at Westminster, the Nineteenth Day of May, Anno Dom. 1761., in the First Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third . . . And from thence continued by several Prorogations to the Fifteenth Day of November, 1763, being the Third Session of the Twelfth Parliament of Great Britain." Woodcut royal coat of arms above the imprint. Woodcut historiated initial at the beginning of the act. In order to increase the supply of hemp and flax for the production of sail cloth and cordage, needed by the Royal Navy and the merchant marine, this act granted a bounty to those who brought those materials from the American colonies to England. In Fine Condition: clean and bright.

1780 softcover pamphlet in very good condition. Paginates: (iii)-viii, [2], (9)-101, blank, lacking the half-title (if it ever existed). Second edition. Pencil notes of prior book seller on title page, no other markings, creases or interior problems. Bound in quality laid paper wraps. A very nice copy. The paper is wonderful example of the paper making trade in 1780's London. Content is scathing satire and complaints about, among other things, the loss of the colonies. A nice copy. More Notes: This is how most books came from the printer and it was up to the buyer to decide on further binding. This appears to have never been bound.

Great Britain: The De Walden Library, 1904. Hardcover. Good+ with no dust jacket. Introduction by Lord Howard de Walden. This book includes the heraldic illustrations that reflect the College of Arms' collection, several being from English monarchs, nobles, and knights. Sections are divided into Banners, Standards, Mottoes, and Rara Heraldica. There is also an Index of Names Included. Frontispiece is in color; the rest of the illustrations are in black and white.The green cloth binding has been professionally re-backed, with title in gilt lettering. The interior features marbled paper paste-downs. Aside from some very light smudge on first couple pages and a very little foxing, the text block is clean. Cover shows wear and rubbing along the edges. There are a few scratches and scuffs, along with fading near edges and spine. A couple spots along the edges are frayed.
