Published by David & Charles, Newton Abbot, 1968, reprints of the first editions of 1834 & 1837. Grey cloth boards, gilt lettering (some on red patch) to spine and to front cover, under illustrated dustwrappers. 8.75ins x 5.75ins. Volume one: [vi], xii, double page list of charters and grants, 498pp. A few vignette illustrations within the text. Volume two: [iv], xii, double page list of charters and grants, 684pp. The twelve companies are the Mercers, the Grocers, the Drapers,the Fishmongers, the Goldsmiths, the Skinners, the Merchant Tailors, the Haberdashers, the Salters, the Ironmongers, the Vintners and the Clothworkers. Previous owners name to top of front free endpaper in each volume. Spines of both volumes very browned. The rear cover of the dustwrapper of volume one has suffered several areas of loss which have been internally strengthened. Books and contents VG, Dw's P & G. Nb combined weight 1.9k pre-packing, please contact seller for postage quote.
