England's Battles by Sea and Land; 150 pages; This fascicule volume contains pages 189-338; plus a Chronological Precis of the Events of the War and title pages for the three volume History of the War with Russia. Scattered foxing to preliminaries, otherwise contents clean and secure in original red cloth binding with decorative stamping in gilt and in blind at spine and front board. Cloth chipped at head of spine and rubbed through along rear edge of spine. Nineteenth century engraved bookplate of "Joseph Wood" with image of colonial gentleman seated reading a book under trees in his garden with stately country home in the background. Owner's signature in pencil on ffep "Joseph Wood / Febry. 1874" This volume includes numerous steel engravings and a map with tissue guards including: (1) Her Majesty Queen Victoria distributing Crimean Medals; (2) View of Malta and harbour from the heights; (3) The Queen reviewing the Guards at Buckingham Palace; (4) Zouaves at the Battle of Inkermann; (5) Map of Constantinople and the Bosphorus; (6) Portrait of Marshall Pelissier; (7) Portrait of Prince Gortschakoff; (8) Portrait of Rt. Hono. Henry Viscount Hardinge; (9) Portrait of General Sir De Lacy Evans; (10) Duke of Cambridge distributing Crimean Medals; Plus: Engraved Title Page for Volume II - French Artillary at Battle of Inkermann; Engraved Title Page for Volume III - Gov. of Kinburn Surrendering to Allies .
