Thomas Scharf's History of Western Maryland, tells you just about everything you'd like to know about the early days of Hagerstown, MD. The original book was published in 1882 by Louis H. Everts of Philadelphia. And to somewhat update the history, we've added a brief excerpt from Maryland, a Guide to the Old Line State, a 1940 WPA publication. One concerns the History of Washington County, the other concerns the History of the Districts of Washington County. Both are taken from Scharf's history. Attention Genealogists: This booklet is filled with the names of settlers and early residents. In addition, there are many individual biographies of prominent citizens scattered throughout the booklet. A few include photographs. . Limited Edition Reprint. Spiral/Comb .
