New York: Harper & Brothers, Publishers [1850], 1850. Early Printing. Hardcover. Good+. Small 8vo. [5], vi-vii, [6], 14-302, [1], 2-10, [8] (pages of publisher's advertisements) pp. Red publisher's cloth with decorations in blind on each board, gilt lettering on the spine. Yellow coated endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated with a frontispiece, a chromolithograph title page, a map, and a few full-page illustrations, engravings. No statement of date on the title page, only a date of 1850 on the copyright page. The binding subtly shaken but still holding strong, the pages show spots of soiling, this book was once owned by the Sawyer School District Library (the only library marking present is a pencil note on a blank leaf).
