Edinburgh: William Blackwood and Sons, 1911. Undetermined. very good. 1st Edition. xxi,393, xviii,442pp. Octavo. 2 vols. In original cloth bound boards. Spine titles in gilt with some mild fading to both; minor rubs on head and foot. Colour fontispiece plate in both, with decorated title page. Illustrated with photographic and pictoral plates, fold out map and sketches in text. Previous owner's bookplate affixed to front paste down, both volumes signed by previous owner (D.F. Spankie 1950). Tight, clean text blocks. very good Regimental history that traces the 13th Hussars from their raising in 1715 until 1909. Originally known as Munden's Dragoons, the 13th was active in the Jacobite rebellions of 1715 and 1745, Waterloo (1815), the Crimean War and the Boer War (1899-1902). A comprehensive review that draws on the regimental Manuscripts as well a private diaries of its officers. Scarce. 1911
