Η παρούσα έκδοση περιλαμβάνει ένα από τα αρχαιότερα χειρόγραφα (6ος αιώνας) που σώζονται στον ελλαδικό χώρο με κείμενα των Ευαγγελίων.

Ο Κώδικας είναι γραμμένος σε περγαμηνή χρωματισμένη με πορφυρό χρώμα, η γραφή είναι κεφαλαιογράμματη με ασημένιο μελάνι και τα ιερά ονόματα είναι γραμμένα με χρυσό. Εκτός από τη Μονή της Πάτμου, τμήματα του Κώδικα υπάρχουν στη Βιβλιοθήκη της Αγίας Πετρούπολης και μερικά φύλλα στο Βυζαντινό Μουσείο Αθηνών, στο Βατικανό και σε άλλες βιβλιοθήκες.

Για πρώτη φορά, στην έκδοση αυτή ο Κώδικας παρουσιάζεται ενοποιημένος και ολοκληρωμένος (279 φύλλα).
