The first UK edition of this novel by Agatha Christie, preceded by the true first US edition published by Dodd, Mead & Company in the same year. A classic example of Christie's work, here eccentric detective Poirot attends a gathering at a country house, which is interrupted by a mysterious murder. Complete with unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, minor bumping to head and tail of spine, damp mark to head of spine and perimeters of boards. Dust wrapper rather worn with considerable loss to head of spine, few closed tears and chipping to extremities. Previous ownership inscription to front pastedown, undated. Post office stamp to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
