Bonham Norton and John Bill. London. 1619. Bonham Norton and John Bill. 1619. First edition, thus. Large thick 8vo bound in full brown morocco, very worn and rubbed, very worn lettering piece to spine. Joints cracked but holding. Marbled endpapers with binder's tape to strengthen hinges. Binding is probably early 19th century and on the reverse of the front free endpaper is a name, "Wm. Snook 1860", eaerlier ownership inscriptions to rear page, dated 1772. Psalms, (bound to front) and Old Testament lack their individual engraved title pages with unusual heart shaped text area inside the illustrations. Title page to New Testament present as are the engraved genealogies. Engraved initial letters and head and tail-pieces. Pages browned and foxed with some early and faded ink marginalia. Generally a clean and sound early 17th century Bible and priced fairly to reflect condition.
