Intermittant foxing. Both front and rear covers have a quadrant of a circle of radius 110mm, stained rather darker than the rest.... probably oil stains but have proved impossible to remove. Remains a superb copy of a book seldom seen in any presentable shape in the original very ornate and attractive binding. All edges gilt; 5 raised bands; gold title on spine with ornate gold decorations on spine, front and rear and inside edges. In fact anything that could be gilded, was.
