He is known for his series of novels that make up The Personal History, Adventures, Experiences and Observations of Peter Leroy. Each novel tells of some aspect of the fictional Leroy's life. Several are supposed to have been written by Leroy. All are deeply felt, yet comic depictions of contemporary life and manners. 'At Home with the Glynns' is a marvelously appealing recollection of boyhood misadventures of the mid-1950s. Readers unfamiliar with the earlier Leroy novels will be delighted with Kraft's wry style, deep insights into youth and age and sly observation of adult behavior. Kraft's prose is a rare delight.
