New York: Harper & Brothers, (1961). First edition. INSCRIBED BY MCMURTRY TO PAUL "DR. Z" ZIMMERMAN, "For Paul, My maiden effort / with Best wishes" and signed "Larry McMurtry" with his usual scrawl. Light foxing to page edges and pastedowns and faint unavoidable offset from the binding to the endpapers otherwise near fine in about very good dust jacket with creasing, rubbing and few small internally mended tears. From the collection of sports writer Paul "Dr. Z" Zimmerman with his penciled notations on rear endpaper and corresponding passages marked in pencil in margins.
