Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. vii, 152pp. "With many illustrations, including sketches, diagrams, and plans, as well as half tones." Tan endpapers. Prev owner name inked finely to ffep (dated 1927). Green boards w gold lettering and decorative goldstamp to cover. Very mild sunning to top two thirds of covers, front and back. Splatter stain to lower front fore edge. Surface wear to bottom edges, joints, and corners, spots of wear to fore edges. Surface wear to head and tail. Joints and hinges are sound. Folio: 325 x 257mm. "A comprehensive guide, æsthetic and practical, for all garden lovers, both those who are still planning their gardens on paper and those who have had gardening experience, including plant lists compiled with the help of horticulturalists in all sections of the country, and an introductory chapter on garden design by Fletcher Steele." - from the title page. Fletcher Steele (1885-1971) was a renowned American landscape architect, author of two books, more than 150 articles, and creator of hundreds of landscaped garden designs (TCLF). Other contributors uncredited.
