Detailed accounts of sexual encounters, and one woman's goal of reaching orgasm, hide the fact that this is a politically feminist book, which includes a chapter detailing the logical reasons abortion should be legal. The book landed the publisher Ralph Ginzburg in jail, but was it for obscenity or its political (and maybe especially pro-choice) views?
