Few if any of the less than 100 known species are at all common. Many of the species live in decaying wood or under bark, others are taken by sweeping. The larvae are more like those of the Buprestidae than of the Elateridae, with which family this group was once included... etc. This is an average size and detail entry. Many entries go into much more detail. Most entries have cross-reference numbers to aid the reader in finding related sections in the book.
