About This Item

Holyoke, Mass. - Ludgate Circus, London : The Elizabeth Towne Co. - L. N. Fowler & Co. , 1927. 1927 at title page. Stated copyright 1922 by Brown Landone. Rare book of intriguing interest. Sharp near very good rarity. Dark violet semi-soft cover fashioned with what appears to be a ribbed patterned leather or leather-like reptilian material, gilt spine titles, moderate edge wear, rub, spine chip. Front panel features Elizabeth Towne blind-stamped insignia "Self-Help Through Self-Knowledge - Nautilus - Offers New Selves for Old." Pages very good, clean. Illustrated endpapers with image of dignified lady in flowing garments and the Towne emblem motif repeated. Bind good, square; hinges intact. Near good rarity with very good interior of this powerful insight. Rather amazing elemental material of the human soul's potential and its Creator. Each highly charged chapter has further sub-chapters of diverse interest. Scarce volume and material. From introduction: Some are endowed with faith and others beset with doubt. Of those endowed with faith based upon spiritual knowledge, there is not one whose faith is not weakened a little by trifling doubts. Of those beset with the darkest of doubts, there is not one who is not enlightened a little by a touch of faith. When I state that ideals come true, none of you deny this. But, when I assure you that every ideal always comes true and that every one of your own ideals can be changed to a material reality, my statement contrasts so astoundingly with your past experiences of having tried faithfully to attain that which you desire, that some of you feel it can not be true. Some may doubt even my common sense in making this assertion. You who doubt that every ideal comes true, doubt sincerely. Doubt because of common sense judgments based upon your present knowledge. No matter the cause, doubt interferes with realization of your ideals. It dampens the fire of desire and lessens your effort to attain that which you wish. I do not wish you to accept any statement. I wish you to know truth! "How To Turn Your Desires And Ideals Into Reality" provides everything you need to know and do to achieve your ideal or vision. Here Brown Landone shows you: How it takes just five minutes a day to make you super-efficient; How to change a weak will into a strong will; and, How to form an ideal which will come true. In this concise and well written volume, one notion deserves more than a passing mention. During the centuries, philosophers have sought the basis of the soul's faith in the unity of all things. Clearly to present that basis of unity was Landone's primary objective. He may or may not have succeeded in making the world conscious of this unity, but at least the attempt in The Spirit of Matter comes nearer making us know that the spiritual and material world are one. With consciousness of the unity of all things in spirit and matter, the faith is strong and the way is clear to make our ideals come true. - Edgar H. Felix, New York City Brown Landone was one of the first teachers of the scientific understanding of accomplishments. He was always spiritually minded even through he was academically and scientifically educated. He was born into a wealthy family and for his first thirteen years he lived the usual routine of an invalid. Then his life was changed dramatically after a frightening event. Although regarded as virtually helpless by many medical accounts, he was able to carry a heavy metal chest down five flights of stairs when left alone. And on one of these occasions of super human will, a home fire erupted. Afterwards, young Landone knew his subconscious mind had somehow made it happen without his awareness. He reasoned that if he could do that sub-consciously when he was ill, he certainly could do it consciously. Landone explains how businesses were turned around, relationships attracted, health improved, careers advanced and finances increased through the process of Idealization. Printed in the U.S.A. 157 pages. Insured post.. First Edition. Full-Leather. Good. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
