About This Item

Washington D.C.: Human Events, Inc. Broken run, seven issues: Vol. xxii, no. 11, September 14, 1963; Vol. xxiv, no. 14, April 4, 1964; Vol. xxv, no. 18, May 1, 1965; Vol. xxv, no. 42, October 16, 1965; [Vol. xxv, no. 41 ?], November 6, 1965; Vol. xxv, no. 49, December 4, 1965; Vol. xxviii, no. 26, June 29, 1968. First editions. Tabloid newspapers, 16 inches by 11.25 inches, generally 16 pages each (one issue with 24 pp.), illustrated throughout. Each issue with the printed address label of subscriber Philip Miller Crane, later a congressman representing the eighth Illinois district from 1969 to 2005.

Moderately toned, occasional small stains, lightly tattered including a few short tears without loss, generally Very Good.

Phil Crane was a leading firebrand conservative until eclipsed by the ascendancy of Newt Gingrich.

"In reporting the news, Human Events is objective, it aims for accurate presentation of the facts. But it is not impartial. It looks at events through eyes that are biased in favor of limited constitutional government, local self-government, private enterprise and individual freedom. These principles represented the bias of the Founding Fathers. We think the same bias will preserve freedom in America." ~Mission statement, Human Events.

Contributors include: Victor Lasky, Ralph de Toledano, Victor Riesel, Fulton Lewis, Jr., John Tower & others. Articles Include: How Do the Revolutionists Get Their Money?; The Inside Oswald Story; Progressive Labor Party Formed; Peace Corps is Recruiting Left-Wing SDS members; Examining Those 'Emergency Hunger' Areas; Was the FBI Misused Again?; & more.
