Price-clipped DJ has light shelf-wear present to the DJ extremities. Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. Previous owner's gift inscription present to the FFEP. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. This is the story upon which disney's "Little Dog Lost" was based. A poignant story about a dog (a mongrel in the book, a Corgi in the film) who is traumatized by a foolish person with a broom and, consequently, gets lost. Much to learn about raising a dog in this children's novel. Meindert De Jong, sometimes spelled de Jong, DeJong or Dejong was a Dutch-American, award-winning author of children's books. Among other awards and nominations, he was presented with the international Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1962 for his contributions as a children's writer and "The Wheel on the School" won the U. S. Newbery Medal in 1955. "Hurry Home, Candy" was a runner-up for the Newbery Medal in 1954. EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 244 pages .
