Original covers in unclipped dust jacket. Shelf wear, dust jacket in archival sleeve, age toning to pages, contents clean. Robert Dovers was attached to a French expedition to learn about Polar exploration from experienced French personnel, at the same time benefiting all by his competency in other fields (cartography). This book is an account of his experiences and the behaviour and psychology of the sledge dogs. One of the objects of the expedition was to maintain the first all year round study of the Emperor penguins. Second impression of the First Edition. Quantity Available: 1.
