New York: Privately Printed, 1864. First. hardcover. fine. iv, 5-40 pages. Slim 12mo, original terra cotta cloth with blind-stamped covers and title in gilt, white moire endpapers. No place, no date (New York 1864]. First edition, first issue. A very fine fresh copy, inscribed by the author to his daughter: "Fanny Bryant Godwin from her father. November 11th 1864". Bryant has also written "New York 1864" at bottom of title page.<br/> <br/> Exceedingly rare association copy. First edition, first issue, containing 19 hymns, with the second line in the fourth stanza on page 9, reading "Dwells on Thy works in deep delight". This privately printed first issue consisted of only a very small number of copies to be distributed among the author's friends. The place and date of publication has been written in by the author. -- BAL 1686<br/> <br/>
