F. Valvavense, Venetia, 1660. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text is in Latin. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Previous owner's name in ink on front free end paper. Vellum over flexible boards, 224 pages, decorated with illustrated letters. Appears to be a genealogy of the Chigi family, including one notable member of the family, Fabio Chigi (1599-1667), who became Pope Alexander VII (1655-1667). WorldCat lists only this edition, which is only found in one library. Vellum is stained, corners and spine ends bumped and worn, vellum chipped in horizontal line on spine and shows binding, several pages are heavily stained/toned, notes in ink on blank page at end of book, notes written in Italian on spare pieces of paper are also included.
