Dublin: Metropolitan Publishing Co., 1946. A famous and influential prison memoir, published anonymously, using only a penal number as a pseudonym. Uncommon. This is a Very Good copy of the Second Impression, issued a year after the First Edition, in the same binding but with a different dustwrapper. Tan paper-covered boards with a yellow cloth spine; red lettering on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 243 pages. The Preface is by Sean O'Faolain. This copy has been INSCRIBED by the author to Irene Calvert (MP, 1909-2000) on the FFEP "On the occasion of her presiding at debate in Dublin," and dated in 1947. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Inscribed By Author. Second Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good.
