The back cover of the textbook/commentary states: "Does God measure the strength of a nation and its leaders on the basis of gross national product, armaments, natural resources or monetary wealth? The books of Samuel show that a nation is strong when its leaders and people submit to divine authority. We dare not shrug off this principle, for inevitably God tests a nation and its leaders." This is the revised in 1985 edition. Two books are included.
