Octavo. 312 pp. Marking the one hundredth anniversary of the passing of MA-KA-TAI-ME-SHE-KIA-KIAK.The author has written a book on Blak Hawk which places the life and haracter of that illustrious Indian in proper perspective as a chapter in the tragic story of the Red Man in America who in 1838 died in the Territory which had been created by Congress six years after the Black Hawk War. Bound in red cloth lettred and stamped in gilt, spine gilt, top edge red, only minor shelf wear and the slightest bit of fading so spine. Very nice.
