True first edition Gold Medal #743 with the original 25 cent price on the front cover. Condition: VG+. Appears unread, rubbing to spine, slight spine slant, some light age toning to outer extremities of pages, creases near spine on front / rear cover typical of vintage paperbacks of this age else pages are clean, bright, unmarked and binding tight. Curt Cannon is the pseudonym of pulp fiction / science fiction writer Evan Hunter who changed his original name from Salvatore Albert Lombino and also went by the pseudonym Ed McBain. Author of novel The Blackboard Jungle made into the 1955 film of the same name and the 87th Precinct later a 1960's TV show series along with other numerous film adaptations. One of only two books written under the pseudonym Curt Cannon and features a collection of six stories, the first story Die Hard published in the 1953 January first issue of the pulp magazine Manhunt.
