New York: Random House,, 1981. First edition, first printing. The play had its premiere at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles in 1979, before opening on Broadway in 1980, and was subsequently made into a feature film directed by Herbert Ross in 1982. Octavo. Original black cloth-backed boards, titles to spine in silver, palm tree motif to front cover in blind. With dust jacket. Spine ends rubbed, edges of boards toned with blemishes to cloth, spots affecting fore-edge of several pages, but generally clean throughout; a very good copy in the price-clipped jacket, vertical crease to spine, nicks to ends with damp stain at head, spots to verso of front flap.
