About This Item

NY. NY: William Morrow. Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket. 1976. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Hardcover. Dust jacket has a few short tears, some associated wrinkling, still attractive, now protected by fresh mylar sleeve. Bottom edge of boards are faded with a couple of small bumps, no other defects in book. Binding is tight, pages are crisp and unmarked, the book appears unread. . This copy is SIGNED AND INSCRIBED by author: "To AJ, Merry Christmas, 1980. Bill. " Weldon Hill is the pseudonym of William R. Scott. Written on the front flap is: "Young Bill forgets my age. AJ. " This is a reference to a sentence on the jacket blurb describing the book: " ... What it was like to mature in America in 1938." AJ underlined "1938" to clarify his comment. Evidently AJ was the model for Henry Coonrod, the main character of the novel. An attractive signed and inscribed copy with a fascinating association suggested by the inscription and flap notation. By the author of Onionhead and Jefferson McGraw. . 8vo - 8" to 9" tall. H1 .
