New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1890. 12mo, pp. [pub. ad], [8], 209, [1]; early owner's name on prelims, spine ends frayed, slightly cocked, otherwise very good in original brown cloth with gilt-lettered upper cover and spine, design on upper cover stamped in blind. Contains chapters 'On Being Idle', 'On Being in Love', 'On Being Hard Up' to name a few. The author blatantly states in the preface, "This book wouldn't elevate a cow. I cannot conscientiously recommend it for any useful purposes whatever."
