As new condition. 117 pp. quarto. covering the history of a place of the blues, known as Hines Farm, located near Swanton, Ohio. In its heyday in the 50s and 60s, it was a favorite, relaxing gathering place of many African-American blues and jazz artists. The Hines Farm also had a motorcycle race track and a place to play baseball. B&w photos from the Hines Farm Blues Club collection and Ads for Hines Farm in the Toledo Bronze Raven. Included are candid photos of patrons dancing and socializing, photos of performers, Little Esther Phillips, female impersonator, Valerie Compton, motorcyclists who participated in the "rodeos," promotional photos of John Lee Hooker, Jimmie McCracklin, Gene Ludwig Trio, Big Jack Reynolds, Little Johnny Taylor, Bo Bo Jenkins, Art Taylor/Curtis Grant and the Houserockers, Buddy Lamp, Chiquieta, girl drummer, Lady B. Belcher, the Avalons, Jimmie Ricks, Freddie King, Allen Love, Jimmy Reed. Also many of the ad posters for those performers.
