Brown cloth with gilt letters and lines on spine and front cover, 304 pp., 100+ BW illus. Part of a lengthy series of illustrated picture atlases presenting the reproduction of prints rendered by European masters. Once based primarily on the compilations created by Austrian scholar and artist Johann Adam Bernhard Ritter von Bartsch (1757-1821) in his 21-volume "Le Peintre Graveur." This volume addresses the work of 6 Italian engravers: Giovanni Thysidio Guidi, Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione, Salvatore Castiglione, Carlo Sacchi, Giovanni Angelo Canini, and Giovanni Battista Galestruzzi. Illustrations of their work were found in the previous volume. Uncommon.
