Tipped-in frontispiece illustrating Waif Maid. Errata slip laid in. This is the best available reference book on the published work of Lynd Ward. Includes an excellent essay ("Illustrated by Lynd Ward") by Robert Dance, an extensive and detailed "Bibliography of the Book Illustrations of Lynd Ward" (listing 246 items with descriptions and annotations), the author's bibliography of sources, and an index. Published in conjunction with the exhibition "Illustrated by Lynd Ward, From the Collection of Robert Dance," at the Grolier Club (November 19, 2015 to January 16, 2016).
This is the special limited edition, issued in a very low limitation, with 26 beautiful tipped-in plates, 23 in color, 3 in black and white. Number 37 in an edition of 85 numbered copies, of which 75 were offered for sale.
