London: Purnell Books, 1961 HC and DJ. 11 x 8 1/4. Questions and Anwers about a multitude of topics: animals, people, places. Designed for children but of great interest to all ages. Did Hamlet really live? How does the humming- bird hum? What is a white beet used for? Plasticized dj has wear to corners and small tears to top and bottom edges, 2 chips to top edge back and a tear and a 4" tear to bottom back. Has been mended w ith tape from back of cover. This tape has, as yet, not yellowed. New mylar cover. Colourful illustrated paper on boards binding has some wear to corners and top and bottom of spine but is really quit e nice. Great illustrated endpapers are clean - no former owner's name. Text is clean, unmarked and very nice. What a fun, interesting book. DJ cond: poor Binding, endpapers and text: good - v. good.. Good/Poor.
