About This Item
New York: George P. Putnam, 1851. First edition. . Hardcover. Good/No dust jacket. Good. No dust jacket. Signed by author. SIGNED by noted artist and photographer John W. Ehninger. Signature rather ghostly, showing up only very lightly on the title page, but can still be mostly made out. Inscribed to a lady (name unreadable, but first name Alice) "with the compliments of John W. Ehninger" and dated Feb. 6 1860. Below is another brief line in the same hand, but which is unreadable. Oversize book in original boards, but with crude but serviceable library repair to spine, and a few other library markings. Foxing to pages, else in good condition. Rare.
