Epinal: Imagerie Pellerin, 1980. Hardback. Near Fine. 16" by 12". Various. A beautiful reprinted collection of song and round for children with illustrations of nineteenth century French prints. Reprinted collection of French songs and rounds with colourful nineteenth century line prints by Imagerie d'Epinal. This Blue Series contains 40 popular songs. The illustrations are based from imaging artists of the nineteenth century, who at the time would transfer and print their drawings on lithographic stones. When this copy was printed, modern techniques would have been used, but the colour application still uses traditional methods. Imagerie d'Epinal (Epinal imaging), was originally a printing press founded in 1796 by Jean-Charles Pellerin. In quarter cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Minor discolouration to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are clean and bright. Near Fine
