(Rome): Jo. Jacobus de Rubeis (Giovanni Giacomo de Rossi), 1674. First edition. Hardcover. Near fine. Oblong folio. 13 by 18 inches. Engraved title/dedication to and with portrait of Queen Christina followed by an engraved depiction of Raphael, who died in 1520. These are followed by 52 etchings which reproduce Raphael's paintings and which were executed by Cesare Fantetti or Pietro Aquila. Page edges are toned with age but the etchings are in fine condition. The title'dedication has a small right margin restoration else it is in near fine condition. Bound to style in quarter morocco, gilt spine title, printed paper boards. Overall a verygood to near fine examplar. Text in Latin.
