About This Item
Grant Richards, London., 1916. First edition. Octavo. 200 pages. Frontispiece and tailpiece illustration by Albert Rutherston. The illustrator's name on the title-page is given as ''Albert Rutherston (Rothenstein)''. This was the year in which he anglicised his name, a change which was one of several problematical issues which beset the printing of the book. On the front free endpaper is the small and neat ownership signature of Canadian writer, critic and editor John Metcalf.Edges, prelims and last few leaves spotted. Bumps to edges of front cover. Very good in very good indeed, slightly nicked dustwrapper chipped at head of spine. The black and white frontispiece is reproduced in colour on the dustwrapper.
