[10], 1-181, [1] pp. Brown cloth with a gold key on the front board, gold lettering on the spine. Price of $9.95 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Jacket illustration by Robert Sabin. With full-page and in-text drawings by Brock Cole. Without the publisher's card on the copyright page stating the illustrator's credit. Banks' classic fantasy tale, in which a young boy gets more than he wishes for on his birthday. A touch of foxing to the top textblock and the endpapers, trace rubbing to the spine ends; jacket with edge wear, including a closed tear on its front panel and a small split to its rear fold.

Synopsis

The Indian in the Cupboard is a children's book written by British author Lynne Reid Banks, and illustrated by Brock Colein 1980. It has received numerous awards, and was made into a film in 1995. The book was followed by four sequels: The Return of the Indian (1985), The Secret of the Indian (1989), The Mystery of the Cupboard (1992), and The Key to the Indian (1998). All were published by Doubleday Books in hardcover, then by Avon Books, now HarperCollins, in paperback.
